Tawny Owl

I have only seen one wild owl in the UK, and this tawny owl was not it. Instead it was in an owl sanctuary in Wales called Festival Park. The staff there rescue and provide a home for owls that would no longer be able to survive in the wild. The tawny owls’ beak was out of alignment, possibly from flying into an unseen object, and sadly it could no longer feed itself. I’ve had a fascination with owls ever since one nearly flew into my car windscreen at dusk. Although I’d far rather try and catch a glimpse of them in the wild, volunteers finding and housing lost/ injured owls fills me with hope for these magnificent creatures. and reassures me that humans continue to provide solutions to continued habitat disruption.
